A Lady 1
I walked on the sand
It is cold and dry now
The water is too far away
I pause and think
Yes, this is the place
The birds have gone
The leaves have fallen
The days are shorter now
I look for us, but we are not there
Might this be the place we cared?
The place where under a starry sky
I held your hand and drew you close
We walked tot he sand with the waves nigh
We danced
The sand was wet, the moon a sliver
The warmth of the late spring day
The seagulls called and you my love
Were in my arms with me
We danced to a tune only in our hearts
We moved as one and then
I whispered love into your ear
And we danced some more and then
The years have passed
The days are short
The sand is dry and cold
The wind has blown away our love
Of so many years ago
I walk along the patch of sand
I walk with my heart far away
I wish for what was, what might have been
Tears come as we danced away.
