So now he's been impeached, the first elected president to be impeached in US history. Does he demonstrate a sense of duty and honor and take the high road, that is resign, and spare the nation the spectacle of Monica testifying as to the nature of their relationship? Of course not, no-one ever seriously associates the term "honor" with william jefferson clinton. He will continue this national disgrace, one he could have avoided had he chosen not to attempt to deny Paula Jones her Constititional right to her day in court.
This man is an example for our children, in the tradition of Benedict Arnold, our most infamous traitor. This most infamous of all our Presidents, he has recklessly used our men in uniform for his own selfish motives, all the while refusing them the tools they need to safely complete their missions. He has demonstrated a callous disregard for the rule of law, the sanctity of the Oval Office, and the civil rights of our citizens. He must be removed from office. He has always been unfit for office, and there is no other possible finish to his disgraceful maladministration of office and his reckless endangerment of the Office of the President and our sacred national birthright, the Constitution of the United States.
A Prince, whose Character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the Ruler of a free People. Declaration of Independence, 1776.
And now, September 11. Is it too strong to suggest that slick's legacy must include a footnote on his administration's culpability for this murderous crime? Well, let's review his "legacy".
Now this is not only my idea. Frontpage Magazine has a piece by Marc Rotterman on this very issue. None other than Dick Morris, in a Wall Street Journal article, has suggested bill's lack of focus on foreign policy helped set the stage for this attack . And I could provide you with others.
Here is my reply to the Rotterman article:
On whose watch was the FBI's mandate turned on its head, from being the nation's principle law-enforcement agency to nothing but a blocking tool for Janet Reno's reckless attempts to shift focus from the lawlessness of Slick and the rest of his administration? For crying out loud, they waged war on casual drug users and the children at Waco more vigorously than they did the 1993 bombers of the WTC.
Khobar Towers, US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the USS Cole, the 1993 WTC, and more. And each time he responded with mere pin-pricks, misguided and ineffective efforts made more to deflect public attention from the impending milestones in his legal travails than to act as his job description demanded - to protect and defend the Constitution (our Nation) from all foes, both foreign and domestic.
On whose watch was the INS turned into a defacto recruitment arm of the Democratic National Committee, more intent on bringing in new (illegal) immigrant voters than securing our borders?
On whose watch was the US military converted to the global equivalent of soccer-stadium security, tasked with breaking up fights within dysfunctional nations; hopelessly over-whelmed, over-extended and under-supported?
On whose watch was the Hyphenated-American glorified to the point of near deity, when such a concept does nothing but enflame envy and hatred and fantasies of retribution so harmful they have not only turned back the clock on race relations, many now feel comfortable blaming an entire race for the crimes of September 11?
No spin will cleanse this legacy. Long may it rot.
This is the most appropriate commemoration of the Slickmeister I have ever seen, and one which may someday be realized, given the continued evidence piling up around this guy's dropped trousers.
Of course we're well respected around the world. This AP photo comes from a recent festival in Germany. In this parade float, bill's favorite method of supporting Liberty is depicted.
His actions really influenced the way the Democratic Party is perceived.
But his biggest contribution was to change the way we saw the office of the president.
We can't forget the senator!
Many were happy to see them go.
Especially the children.
But hey, at least he's got his dog!
