Mary's Merriment

THE original plan for this site was to make it a fun place you would want to visit often to play some board games, laugh at corny jokes... that sort of thing. But as I became more involved in its creation, the butterfly theme just took over, and it quickly became a site to display the beautiful art work of dedicated butterfly photographers. As life often takes some strange turns, so did this site, and I could not be happier about it.

The response has been greater than I ever dreamed, and I have made so many new and wonderful friends through this site. My new-found appreciation for the marvels of nature in general and butterflies in particular has enriched my life enormously, but the friends I have made are the greatest additions to my life.

My next project is to raise butterflies, and as a prelude to that endeavor, I attended a seminar recently given by Beth and Reese Homeyer of Sweeny Switch, Texas. One would have to be brain dead not to be inspired by the enthusiasm and knowledge of those two exceptional individuals.

So stayed tuned, you may one day soon see photographs of my own "Painted Ladies." Don't laugh... it could happen!! Of course they won't be in the same class as the ones you see on this site... they are a tough act to follow regardless!! In my effort to LIVE, LOVE, and LAUGH, amazing things have already happened, so one more would fit nicely.
