    Horse back trekking expedition on Kamchatka
    to the Timonovskie Hot Springs


    11 days itinerary



    Day 1. Arrival to Elizovo airport. Meeting the guides. Coach transfer to hotel "Petropavlovsk". Afternoon sightseeing tour around the city - the harbor, the museum of regional studies, fish market. Welcome dinner.

    Day 2. Jeep transfer to the Avacha volcano (3-4 hours). Acclimatization hike up the hills. Overnight in tents at the Avacha volcano Base Camp.

    Day 3. Guided ascent to the top of Avacha volcano (5-7 hours). Panorama from the crator's rim to the Avacha Bay and surround volcanoes. Return to the Base Camp. Second overnight in tents.

    Day 4. Jeep transfer to the Avacha river and off-road ride on the board of "Monster" , a "URAL" passenger track, accross the river to the Skhatzik horse rancho. Overnight in tents at Skhatzik.

    Day 5. Horse back ride to the Sarytzyn river (6-7 hours). Overnight in tents at a meteo-post "Sarytzin". Campfire.

    Day 6. Continue ride to the Timonovskie Hot Springs Base Camp. Staying at the Camp Sight. Experiencing various hot springs bathing in natural pools. Mosquitos hate the smell and the bathing is truly enjoyable.

    Day 7. Hike to the foothills of mt. Bakening, which is a holy mountain for local tribs. Return to the Timonovskie Hot Springs. Afternoon ride back to the Sarytzin river meteo-post. Overnight in tents.

    Day 8. Rafting down the Levaya Avacha river. Overnight in tents at the Skhatzik Rancho.

    Day 9. Continue rafting until the Avacha river. Return to Petropavlovsk.

    Day 10. Full day experiencing fly fishing on river Bystraya. Jeep transfer (80 km away from the city). Return to the hotel.
    Farewell dinner.

    Day 11. Morning tour to the fish market. Optional heliflight to the Valley of Gaysers. Afternoon transfer to Elizovo airport. Departure.


    Land cost for individuals: $1340.00

    The cost includes all accommodations, overland transport, tents, camping stuff, English or Deutsch speaking guide service, wrangler's crew, all the meals en route and in the city, national park fees and permits.
