Some of my favorite beaches

This is a view of the closest beach to my home – Ocean City Md. Every few years, the ocean takes the beach away, and the Corps of Engineers puts it back.

This is Myrtle Beach, SC. I was there for Bike Week a few years ago, and I really enjoyed it. Even though it’s a big resort, there’s enough beach so everyone can find a quiet spot.

This is a beach on the Greek island of Mykonos. Mediterranean beaches have a different feel to them. There’s no big waves, and a lot of the islands are rocky and dry - very different from the Caribbean.

This beach is on the British-owned island of Barbados. It was everything I imagined a Caribbean island should be - palm trees, pink sand, clear blue sky, and translucent turquoise water.

This is a beach at the Tulum ruins in Mexico - part of the Yucatan penninsula. This place combined all of my favorite outdoor things - the ruins perched on top of a rocky bluff (like a mountain), with beautiful aquamarine waters gently lapping the soft sand. Plus, I had it practically to myself.

This is a picture of the Nubble lighthouse in York Beach, Maine. Ok, technically speaking, this picture is not a beach, although there is a beach close by. Even so, this was a beautiful to visit - the classic rocky seacoast. This lighthouse is actually an island - there’s a dinghy rigged with a pulley system to get you back and forth.
