The Adventures of Em in La La Land
One of the great things about the internet is that it lets you meet people from all over. I got the opportunity to make my first trip to the West Coast to visit with my friend Amy, who lives in L.A.
After researching Los Angeles, I decided that rather than drag my poor friend to all the traditional tourist attractions - we should make this a vacation to remember - a vacation featuring sex and violence :)
First off, LA is known for sex and sex crimes. The crimes part was easy - here's Patti showing the way to the most famous urinal in LA
And heres Amy and I standing at the very urinal where George Michael "showed his stuff".
LA is amazing - it seems you can get lucky just sitting on a bench
But, I wanted bigger and better things - so here I am with the horniest creature in LA.
ok - we've found sex - then we moved on to more violence. Our guidebook was the website Seeing Stars
Their pictures are better than mine - so I'll just tell you we covered all the major death scenes - and we spent a delightful afternoon wandering around the Westwood Memorial Park
We also discovered the LA Coroners Gift Shop
But the high point of the trip was that Amy had gotten us special passes to be part of the audience at The Price is Right. Yep, we were actually on TV as the cameras panned through and I can say definitely and absolutely that I am totally nonphotogenic.
Bob Barker is old but still spry - in fact, we caught him looking down one of the models cleavage during a break in the shooting. My picture of that event was confiscated, however.
It was a wonderful adventure, but I'm afraid we wore our poor hostess out - I have proof that she was happy to go back to her office at Time-Warner so she could get some rest. I wish I had her job, don't you?
