My Personal Reflections

Summer!!!!

Well, time for a little beach. Anyone care to join me???? It's time for some fun in the sun. I need a tan. I think I've been indoors way too long.

You know, I recently used a Nike ball. I know I've made fun of them in the past, and I continue to. It's not a ball. There's no quality to it. I still recommend to Nike that they stick to shoes.

My college team switched to Wilson balls this past season. Now there's a quality ball. I don't remember the exact type of ball we used, it's been 5 months since our season ended. However, the ball was smooth. It was a pleasure to hit.

Anybody been watching Team Canada play recently. I've been following them around the globe and I think they have a legitimate chance of going to Sydney this year.

How about the new scoring system?!?!?!?!? Anybody in favour? I like it myself. It does exactly what it was designed to do, make the game more exciting to watch, and play. Now, the games are much more intense. With every play counting, there's no time to slack off. A lead of five points can be devastating with the new scoring. I know some have risend up against it, but I like the system.

I have a complaint against refs that I've had for years now. The one thing that many refs fail to stay on top of, and is very crucial, is contact under the net. I've sprained both my ankles landing on people who've come under the net. Now, in isolated incidences I wouldn't complain, but, when it's the third or fourth time in one game that I've hit a player who was on my side, I start to get a little frustrated. Ref's have a tough enough job but watching under the net can be just as important as what's going on above the net. This will only help the game.

For those of you who do suffer from ankle injuries, or who would like to seriously reduce the risk, I strongly recommend the purchase of an ankle brace. My personal favourite is the Active Ankle. These can be ordered from their site.

Well, I must go for now. Until I write again, please feel free to comment.
