COURSE: The event will be held on the Columbia and Wenatchee Rivers. The course will begin and end at Walla Walla Point Park near the swimming area. The race will proceed south and pass under two bridges (one vehicle and walking bridge) to a buoy near the old ferry winch tower. Racers will then head north retracing the route to Walla Walla Point Park. Racers will enter the swimming pool area and undertake a 200-meter portage, reentering the water at the north end of the swimming beach. Paddlers will head up the Wenatchee River approximately 600 meters and round a buoy just below the walking bridge and follow a marked course back to the swimming area. The up river section will be repeated three times, with portages at the end of conclusion of the first and second circuits. At the end of the third circuit, racers will enter the swimming area where the finish line will be located at the approximate mid-point. Course modifications may occur if unexpected water conditions occur. The course is Class I throughout, with the current dam controlled and steady.
