We started from our home base the Zoology Museum.
Lead by our esteemed Professor, Kari Vepsalainen.
Kari would was extreemly helpful in in the field as well as in class.
On the first day we began our excursion in the deciduous forests of
Espoonlahti bay.
Here we are after our second day adventure in Nuuksio National Park.
Notice the delectible mushrooms and berries collected.
We also discovered some other interesting things in the forest.
What is it you ask? It's an anthill.
How about a look at a larger one?
And another!!
The third day we went to the Liesjarvi National Park and Torronsuo bog.
I learned quickly that it takes some care to walk safely over a bog.
The fourth day we were at Seitseminen National Park. While waiting for the bus
we explored an old-time traditional farm.
Finally, on the last day, we have special permission to walk through the
Sinivuori Strictly Protected Reserve. As you can see the vegetation is much
different from the silvicultured forests.
Much easier to get lost in, but very interesting.
We were also able to get a birds eye view.
