Grandma Brown's Prune Cake

from 1921

2 cups sifted flour
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
3 small or 2 large eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 cup sour milk (may use regular milk)
1 cup chopped prunes
1 cup chopped nuts

Mix all the dry ingredients together and then add the milk and oil. Mix well.
Pour into a tube pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.
Top with whipped cream or serve with ice cream and enjoy.
