Report=Went to Puddingstone with hopes of hooking some freshly planted trout as indicated from the previous report on this lake. Complete B.S. Went straight to the boat ramp where they usually stock and didn't get a bite. Park ranger also said he hasn't seen or heard of any plants recently. Tried to salvage the day by heading to the San Gabriel River, west fork. The ranger that sold me the parking permit said they stocked on Thurs. Got one little native rainbow on a spinner. Lots of anglers fishing but no planters caught or seen. Moved over to the east fork. No action there. On the way back we stopped on the cliffs that overlooks the reservior where the river runs into it. Saw schools of dozens of 1-2 pound fish swimming around the brush in the water. Too steep to get down to the water from this point. The fish were actually attracted to the rocks that we threw into the water from the cliffs above. Dozens began swimming out from the brushy area to see what all the commotion was. They were probably carp but makes me wonder if they were bass or even trout. Went over to one of the only accessible areas that I know of to the reservior which is by the bridge. Soaked some nightcrawlers for awhile and called it quits. Sure would like to be able to put a boat on that lake and fish over by the inlet. Not sure if the dfg even stocked up here either. Stopped by La Mirada park again on the way home. Lots of anglers-no fish. Should have gone to one of the pay-to-fish lakes instead.

Rating=Poor
