Report=My daughter and I got to the lake at 6:30 am. Drove over to trout island (the water level is low enough to drive there now.) and had eight, 1 to 1-1/2-pound rainbows by 11:00. "Two more and we'll have to head home." I said. My daughter asked if she could check the bait on her pole. I said go ahead. Then I heard her scream. "Dad, I got a big one!" I looked over and saw her rod bent double and the drag was screaming. "Jeez, play 'em carefully, thats only 2-pound test leader and that's a BIG fish!" We had a total of four rods out, two with 2-pound test leader and two with 4-pound leader. It would figure that the big fish would bite the smallest rod! I kept shouting commands as my daughter worked the fish towards the shore like a real pro. The fight lasted for several minutes and other people fishing around us started gathering. All were very impressed with my daughter's fish-handling skills.... of course, she learned from a pro! The last few moments were intense as the fish began to thrash widly near the shoreline. I only had a short net so I had to get my shoes wet and muddy but somehow I managed to get that fat-boy trout into the net. "Sorry Taryn, we'll have to cut our limit short today and stop at nine." I wanted to get that monster on the scale and see how much it weighed. We packed up the gear and headed to the tackle shop. The big rainbow weighed in at 9.90-pounds, not her biggest fish (she's caught several 10-15 pound yellowtail) but not bad for a 9 year-old girl. Beat dad's biggest-ever trout by over two pounds! (Note: Again we kicked-butt over everyone else around us with the use of Kick N' Trout fish scent.)

Rating=Excellent
