Report=My friend and I got here at 6 am and hiked over to my favorite spot on the west shore. I caught 1 trout and 1 carp in about 4 and 1/2 hours and my friend Ty had only 1 small bass. We did see some guys catch a few large crappie from a bush nearby and I also saw someone with an 8-pounder (trout). I did have some excitement though. My first hook-up was on a nightcrawler/powerbait combo and the fish was unstopable, pulled drag bigtime. It made it's way over to some boats off shore and a guy in the boat thought he got a bite when my line crossed his and that was the end of the story. What it was I do not know, felt like a big carp the way it was fighting but never know, could have been that 23-pounder in here... On the way back to the car we stopped at some bushes in Woody's Cove and threw some crappie jigs. My friend Ty then hits a 2-1/2 pound largemouth that hit his crappie jig on #2 test. He battled it well, avoiding the brush, and landed the fish. Nice way to finish the day Ty.
