Report=Got to the landing tired and late from some tough fishing all day at Catalina Island. Went to the bunk room and I was out like a light. Woke up the sound of engines starting upas we began our search for yellows on the upper Finger banks. Tons of yellowtail out there but not in much of a biting mood. We did manage to deck 34 yellows, 26 barries and 30 calicos for 23 anglers, which was a lot better than they did on Sat. My wife and I totaled 3 yellows, 2 cudas and 3, 15-20 inch calicos. The yellows were 12-15 pounds average. I picked up one of the first yellows which I handed off to my wife who has never caught one before. She managed to bring it up on the #15 pound line. After taking a rest from that, she decided she wants to fish for herself and slams another yellow on her first bait. Talk about beginner's luck! That one put her out for most of the rest of the day. I picked up one more yellow fly-lining a sardine on #15 test as the action tapered-off towards the afternoon. Capt. Shane decided to head down the coast for some calico action and we found a medi-ocre bite, lack of current kept the calicos from coming out of the huge kelp beds located south of Rosarito. Nice way to finish the day with a few calicos to top off the sack. (your sack, however, is never topped-off on this boat as your catch is constantly being tagged and stored in a referigerated fish hold throughout the day. Pardon the expressinon "top-off the sack") The O.L. is an awesome boat.

Rating=Good
