Report=This was supposed to be a report for a 2-day trip out of Oceanside, but after checking the weather reports, we chickened out and cancelled that one. Helgren's was kind enough to credit us for another trip. Decided to fish local instead. Headed to Newport Bay and rented a skiff from Davey's. At first we fished the mouth of the jetty where we loaded up on mackerel for my oriental friend. After getting bored with that we headed inside the bay for a decent pick on the bass and a short halibut. Nothing big or exciting today but always lots of fun fishing the bay.
