Report=Gotta love it. Fished irvine lake the day before the opener again (VIP Day). Limited out in a couple of hours on 1 to 1.5 pound trout. Saw a 10+ pounder caught and also a 9.2 pound wiper. Fished on the west shore. 50-100 feet out, no more no less. Short 1 ft. #2 leader. Power bait was working well but they were also hitting the nightcrawlers fished under a bobber with 3 ft. leader. Trolling was unproductive. Got to see an eagle crash into the water and pull out a wriggling trout about 50 ft. away from me. Awesome. Bring the bug spray. Lots of little bees and flys around still. Should be a good opener. Lake is very low. They are adding water, but probably just enough to keep up with the evaporation. We need rain!
