Report=Went on a 2-day trip aboard the Oceanside 95. This is a comfortable but slow moving boat which really cuts down on your fishing time since they are an additional 4 hours from S.D. The food was great. Must have gained two pounds. There were only 11 of us fishing which was very nice and the seas were pretty calm. The big boat hardly rocked. The fishing however was poor. We only got 10 albies the first day and 4 the next. Between my partner and I, we got 7 of the 14 total caught. All nice sized albies, 25-35 pounds but other than a few skipjack, that was all that we could find. We must have stopped on at least 20 good sized pattys for nada. No one home. Most of the albacore came off the troll, there were only about 5 bait fish taken. Hot lure was the rapala cd18, blue mackerel/stainless. The fact that we still have albacore during the middle of Nov. is pretty amazing but the season is definately winding down and it doesn't look like anything will be coming up the line until spring. Salut! to an awesome year of albacore fishing.
