Report: Left Mission Bay at 3:30 am and headed to the islands. Got just past So. Island by daybreak and found breaking yellowtail everywhere. Chasing them down was not effective because they are boat shy and will sink fast. The best method was to drift the area with sardines. There were also LOTS of small barracuda in the mix which tore up our bait. we had 8 yellows in the boat by 10:00 and already out of bait. We decided to troll the Rapalas for a while. Nothing but mackerel and a grump sand bass. Pulled in the lines and went to N. Island and bottom fished for a few sculpin, sheepshead and 3 juvenile black seabass, released. We ended up with a nice mix of fish in the bags. As always, a great time fishing on the Breeze Bayou.
