Report: Took Joe's new boat out "Sea Fire" on it's maiden voyage. We don't have Mexican permits yet so we had to stay in U.S. waters. We decided to hit the 43 spot and work up the line to the 181. Trolled and trolled for nada. Lots of nice paddies found on the 181, but all dry. Even worked a porpoise school for nada. Talked to some other boats in the area, all with similiar results. Most of the action sounded like it was happening at the 371 & 390. Water temp. dropped to 65 out west of the 43, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some albacore further west. Went to La Jolla to finish up the day, nada. Upon returning to S.D. bay, we were stopped by USCG but since we did not do into Mex. waters, they just checked our paperwork and sent us on our way. They stopped another sportfisher after us and it looked like they were sending them over to the inspection dock.
