Sashimi

     This fat bluefin made some excellent sashimi!! Taken 90 miles south of Point Loma aboard the Dolphin II, July 1998. This was just one of three 30-40 pound bluefin that I caught that day, all on the chrome Iron Man #5 with a single red hook on #40 test. Two on the sink, one on the grind. The one on the grind practically ripped the rod out of my hands! Hit like a speeding freight train. I also landed two albacore that day, one at about 25 pounds! We only had 4 1/2 hours to fish because we were so far away from the dock but I must say that was the most action-packed 4.5 hours of tuna fishing that I have ever done!
