Cub Scouts is a Section of the Scouting Movement for 8 - 10.5 year olds.
Cub Scouts have great fun doing a lot of interesting things! There are games to play, codes and skills to learn, places to see and new friends to meet. Cub Scouts all help each other, and try to help other people too. Each week they get together with other boys and girls of their own age and are led into a new adventure! Cub Scouts wear a special uniform to show that they belong to the Movement. Cub Scouts are also able to earn special badges to put on their uniform to show their achievements. |

Our Pack meets regularly on Wednesday nights from 6pm until 7:30pm at our Scouthall in Rawlings Park, Wagga Wagga.
Our activities are both fun-packed and educational, providing the Cubs with skills not necessarily learned at School.
Please have a look at our calendar to see what we have planned for the next few months.
We have also added some photographs of our latest Cub activities to the Group's Photo Album, which are well worth a peek!

While most of the activities are derived from (and limited by) the active imaginations of our Leaders, the main structure of behind our program is geared towards the Cub Scout Award Scheme.
This is a one-step-at-a-time program which encourages participation, planning, persistance and pleasure in the final results.

When Baden-Powell introduced Wolf Cubs (as Cub Scouts were then called), he based the award scheme - and in fact essence of the Cub Scout Section - on "The Jungle Books" which were written by Rudyard Kipling. They are timeless tales of how a young child survives in the jungle after becoming lost as a baby and is subsequently adopted by a wolf pack. The laws that Mowgli must learn in order to live peacefully in the jungle (or just to survive!) are very similar to the types of behaviour to which Cub Scouts should aspire.
If you can get hold of this fantastic book, we suggest you do because they are a really good entertainment! You could also try "All the Mowgli Stories" or "Kim" which are also by Rudyard Kipling.
"The Jungle Book" is also available as a movie of which there are three versions:
Over the next few months we will be watching each version so we can tell you which is the best one, so
STAY TUNED!
