Old Windham Depot

Immediately at the northern starting point of the trail, we got a look at the variety of the trail. It first passed an are of fill where the railroad was above the surroundings and then it passed this impressive cut. The Windham Trail Alliance web site has information about building this railroad over a hundred and fifty years ago. A ride along the trail gives an idea of the amount of work in building a railroad in those days.
