I arrived in Utah (for the first time) on 29 June 1998 to visit family and friends. I wanted to do some Utah Mountain biking but was very limited by funds and time. Scott and I decided on Antelope Island in the middle of the Great Salt lake. We rented two new or like new Trek 930s, bought some water bottles, stopped at Mcdonalds to fill them with ice and water and we were off.
Here’s Scott ready to ride:

Here I am:

The pictures don't do this Island justice. There are some steep climbs that my sea level lungs didn't care for, and some awesome fast downhills. Watch out for the ruts! Here is a picture of the trailhead (middle of picture near the parking lots) from an overlook at an altitude that we would soon exceed once on the trail
This is after the really steep climb stuff (it's out of the picture at the distant right)but we still have alot of slow climbing ahead.
The next two are of Scott then Me climbing after a photo, Water and Breathing stop.
The major climbing is over. The following picture is about 50 feet lower in elevation than the highest point we've been on the trail. We now have a steep rocky downhill then some small uphills but nothing compared to the start.
The large hill behind Scott is what we climbed over and have descended around to get to this point.
I am almost at the point where we turn for the awesome fast downhill.
The downhill is off to the left and then we go over the rise to the trailhead nestled in the valley between the two mountains.
I'm on that rise looking back at the downhill section the trailhead is behind me in the valley
Well here's the pictures from the trip I hope they look better on your PC than mine.
