Petite Lake Information

Quick overview:
Petite Lake is one of ten bodies of water that make up the Chain-o-Lakes. Located in about the "middle" of the chain, Petite is one of the smaller lakes and was not connected to other bodies of water (except high water times) until the existing McHenry Dam was constructed(1939). The lake is 167 acres in size, has a maximum depth of 22', and the base consists of 60% sand and 40% muck. The inlet is from Spring Lake(NW corner) and the outlet is Fox Lake(SW corner). As with most of the Chain, almost, if not all of the shoreline is private access only. Although some of the resorts do allow bank fishing, Petite should only be considered to be used as an ice fishing venue.
