Report=Perfect day, beautifull lake, great fishing. Doesn't get much better than this. We hit the lake at 6:30 am and were the first ones to arrive in the back of Cachuma Bay. The mist was coming off the glassy water, deer were down by the lake's edge, Canada geese flying overhead, awseome!!!!!! My friend Chuck O. was hooked within the first 5 min. and brought up a chunky 2-1/2 pound largemouth that ate his nightcrawler. The fish was photographed and released. Not long after, I was hooked with a nice 1-pound trout that also ate a crawler. While putting that fish on the stringer, my powerbait rod went off; this time a nice 2-pound rainbow that put up a great fight on #2 test. People started showing up and soon there were 15 boats around our spot, throwing anchors and trollling too closely and creating all kinds of noise. Needless to say, the bite slowed with only 1 more rainbow taken over the next few hours. We went over by the island. Lots of people fishing there too. We sat for a few hours with no bites. Decided to troll. Trolled all the way up to the dam using rapalas and needlefish at various lenghts of leadcore. Nothing. Now it was about 2:30, so we decided to try Cachuma bay again. By now most all the boats had left and were fishing elsewhere. We quietly anchored-up in the back and gave it a try. It was on fire till sundown. The three of us limited-out and released several more. We left at 5:00 pm and were the last ones out of the bay...... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Rating=Excellent
