Report=Excellent fishing for me. Arrived at 6:30 and had a limit by 8:30 and let one go. Fished just south of the small dock on trout island. No one else was really catching. I must admit, I had the 'secret' bait, fresh trout roe from a fat hen that I caught yesterday at L.N. Fishing for everyone else was slow. This last stock seems to be mostly small fish, 3/4 to 1-pound. The one I let go was about 1/2-pound! I did get a nice 1-1/2 pounder that was probably in here before the last plant. They sure ate that roe up though. Hard, rod-bending hits and immediatly swallow it everytime. Once I ran out of roe, the bite had stopped but I already had my limit, time to go home. It was windy and raining in the morn., but before I left it stopped and the wind died down looking like a possible nice day after all. Hopefully the other guys did better after I left. I kinda felt bad slamming these fish while everybody else was scratching thier heads but I didn't have enough roe to share or else I would have. I don't know why, but the Irvine and SARL trout don't seem to carry any eggs. (except for the lunker 10+ pounders) If you can get some roe, you are sure to slam the trout wherever you go. Must be fresh though, spoils fast!
