Report: Got invited to fish Dixon Lake "Press Day" for the trout opener. Upon arrival I saw the hatchery truck coming down the hill after dumping 1000 pounds of trout into the lake. Got a boat and headed to the left side of the bouy line as per the Ranger's advice. Several boats fishing there, some with 1 or 2 trout on their stringers. Fished here for about an hour with the umbrella up to keep dry from the light drizzle. No trout seen caught for about by anyone. The rain stopped so I trolled a small Rapala around the lake a couple of times for nada. Docked the boat and fished from shore at the stocking area for several hours with only one bite. I think the coots that were constantly diving in the area may have spooked the trout here. Left home empty handed but still a nice day on the water. Beats work anyday! I think once the trout get acclimated to the lake, the bite should be very good.
