This is Bekki a Belgian Sheepdog clearing the tire jump with style. |
Hakuna Matada. "A worry free philosophy", is the theme of this popular song from the “Lion King” and is also the name of this Siberian Husky. “Kuna” is so much fun to watch on the course. A typical Nordic dog, he’ll howl throughout the entire run. | ![]() |

Here’s Kuna tipping the teeter. Though this looks simple, the teeter has to be tought slowly and carefully. If not, a dog can run off the end and go flying through the air. In competition, if the dog leaves before the teeter hits the ground, the dog is disqualified. |
Pictures do not show the difficulty of the A-frame. In Canada, the peak is 6’1” (apx.2m) high. The boards are at a 45 degree angle. Oreo, competing in the Master’s class makes it look like a walk in the park. Being a Weimaraner, she’s looking for a rabbit to point out. | ![]() |

Purple is the name of the Portuguise Water Dog. He is shown here in mid-flight over the spread jump. This is a fast dog. Watching Purple in the weave poles was similar to watching a ski racer. Purple just ran through the poles and could have knocked them over if they were not mounted on pins! |
Ranger came all the way from Calgary. This dog is so good, he could find his way through the course by himself! Actually, Ranger and his handler were fun to watch. They typify the teamwork that is required for a successful agility team. Of course, being a Border Collie helps too! | ![]() |

You don’t have to have a large dog to run Agility. Shadoe is a Toy Manchester. When she’s not digging holes or chasing mice, she does agility. Even though she’s only 12 or so inches at the shoulders, she still has to go over the A-Frame at full height. In this shot, she is on the level section of the dog walk. Her handler is running to keep up with her. |
This is Ice in his back yard showing off his simple arrangement of equipment. In this picture you can see his tunnel, tire jump, weave poles, regular jumps and the picnic table which serves as the pause table! All that is missing are the contact obstacles. Now where could we fit a Dog walk in here??? | ![]() |
