Cuyahoga Valley Bike Trails

This map shows the first day's route. We started in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. On the first day we made a round trip north and on the second day a round trip south. We stayed at Motel 6 at the Ohio Rt. 8 and Highland Rd. in Macedonia, OH. We started bicycling on each day at the Red Rock Parking Area on Highland Rd. (shown on the National Park map) about 4 miles from the motel.

The direction for the first day's route are shown on the map. We cycled nine miles on the towpath to the northern boundary of the national park where the towpath joined directly with the bike path in the Erie and Ohio Canal Park. We followed this bike path to the northern end and then returned. On the return trip, we left the towpath and followed Sagamore Rd. east to another bike trail, the Hike Bike Trail. We followed this north to the bike paths in the Bedford Reservation of the Cleveland Metro Parks. After riding in this park, we returned to the Bike Hike Trail and went south to a connection between the Bike Hike Trail and the Towpath to return to Highland Rd.

Here are pictures and descriptions of the first day's ride.
