Devil Rays Fan Fest 2003 -- Day 1

Another year of FanFest and my biggest thoughts are whether or not the DRO are out hunting down any baseball players by the name of Travis (I mean come on Lee, Phelps, Harper - will the list continue to grow?) and how completely unfair it was for them to keep showing Tanyon Sturtze in all the clips from last year. On a more serious note (Okay, come on now, anyone who knows me knows that it's impossible for me to be TOO serious) I had to make the pictures fairly small because I'm only alloted so much bandwidth per hour... so deal people. On my final note - I feel horrible for doing this, BUT I haven't the slightest idea who some of these guys are, so it makes it pretty near impossible to write what I think of them... so no offense intended where things are left blank. Anyway, this whole thing is getting boring and I'm outta practice for writing all this stuff (BLAME it all on working with tennis pros on a daily basis!). -- Annie

Jason Tyner Lance Carter
Jason Tyner - back and kicking from Durham. I really wish him good luck - there were times that he was just so much fun to watch play and anyway he seems like a really nice guy. Lance Carter - of course I bragged about all the smiling Lance did at Fan Appreciation Day last year and then I get no smile outta him whatsoever. Anyway he's still cool and in my lack of originality today, I also wish him good luck this season.
Matt White Travis Harper
Matt White - beginning with Matt, we have the trend of really obnoxious shirts. Did the D'Rays go on Safari together in the offseason? Oh well, I guess ball players can get away with whatever they want and still be cool... Travis Harper - Woohoo... I don't know what happened here but I finally had a good hair day in a Travis Harper picture... are the stars outta whack or something? Anyway -- I have a million other places I've praised Travis, so all I have to say to G'Luck this season. :)
Dewayne Statts Doug Waechter
Dewayne Statts - I think it's pretty cool that I met him but I'm still pouting that I missed Joe Magrane by like 2 minutes -- he's like my brother's twin and I SO wanted to have the picture to prove it to the rest of my family! Doug Waechter - WOAH! (and I do mean that in true Joey Lawrence style fashion) Doug is so adorable and was so sweet to me, so thanks Doug for taking such a great photo with me! Sorry I had to go be myself and make some weird face to mess it up - must've been something with having two honeys on either side. Anyway, I hope we get to see more of Doug soon and that things work out awesome for him.
Toby Hall Hans Smith
Toby Hall - as always Toby was awesome! Everyone knows that he's my favorite guy on the team and I have finally collected all of my Toby photos together and you can see them HERE. Gotta give the praise where the praise is due. Hans Smith - and yet another woah worthy cutie and all happening within one day. How lucky can a girl get? If I weren't so tired at the time of writing this, I might rephrase that but right now it's just amusing me. :-)
Jorge Sosa Seth McClung
Jorge Sosa - Man, this picture got so messed up and I think that I need to blame Seth for it... you see, Seth ratted me out about the website and in saying that the picture looked great and that it was going straight to the internet my camera obviously got angry and decided to make it as blurry as possible. Hmpf. Seth McClung - incase you don't know Seth, he's is adorable (especially with the new goatee), charming, and just generally nice and Seth, your personal message, as I promised, can be read --- HERE.
Jason Standridge Travis Phelps
Jason Standridge - Sorry to steal your thunder here Jason, but this kid in the back of this picture makes me very very uneasy... the smirky, hiding behind my hand, laughing makes me wonder who in the heck is walking around with toilet paper stuck to their shoe or what. *SIGH* and so goes the life of the criminally insecure. :) Travis Phelps - Travis has come a long way since the first FanFest I attended and I so hope that everything works out well for him this year because I absolutely love to watch this guy pitch! He's always so serious and so pumped out on the field and it's fun to see. BTW, is it just me or does it look like I'm about to bump him outta the picture with my shoulder there? Oh well, such is the life as a drama queen.
Chris Bosio Lou Piniella
Chris Bosio - I have absolutely no idea about his coaching abilities but after seeing him deal with a fan who was absolving him from not chosing to coach for his (meaning the lunatic fan's) home team, I can tell you that I like this guy already. Lou Piniella - I'm debating here whether or not I want to make some silly joke about not knowing who Lou is... I'll refrain, but if you decide to come throw around bases and scream at umpires just remember that the first base side of the field always likes a little of the dramatic action. Woowoo.
