A hate crime is the victimization of an individual based upon their race, religion, national origin, ethnic identification, gender or sexual orientation. Hate crime may have particularly damaging effects on its victims, their families and the communities of which they are a part. A sense of anger is one of the common responses to being the victim of a hate crime, but so is a deep sense of personal hurt and betrayal.

In this case, it was the victimization of an individual upon its national origin and ethnic identification. This crime act included attack on public place.

I believe every New Yorker still remember what happened on September 11. That morning most of the people went to work, yet some did not, children went to school, people ate breakfast at home and at the restaurant, and some people take a morning walk at the park. At 9:00Am New York was under attack by terrorist. The airplanes crushed into the World Trade Center, many people lost their love ones. At 10:00 to 10:30Am World Trade Center collapsed. Everybody felt scared and depressed.

I Adam Lang, 76 years old senior citizen of Huntington Station. I love America very much. I was shocked and speechless when I heard the news that the World Trade Center collapsed. At that morning, I became the victim of the hate crime. I was very unhappy, so I used alcohol to anesthetize myself everyday.

On September 13, I was outside the mall revving my engine for several minutes. Then I saw a Pakistan woman stood on a sidewalk awaiting a ride home, I put the car in drive and headed directly at her. The woman ran inside the mall to safety. If she did not jump out of the way, I would have run right over her.

I jumped out of the car, and screamed that I was "doing this for my country and I am going to kill her". My plan did not work and I was under arrested with the charges of first-degree reckless endangerment and driving while intoxicated. I was being held pending arraignment that day.
