Giles Corey, Nurse Francis, and John Proctor wives being accused as witches by young girls. They wanted to save their wives so they went to court to present their cases to Governor Danforth and Judge Hathorne. When Proctor presented a petition signed by 90 people who said their wives are good people, Danforth asked to question those people in the petition. Corey charges Putnam that he accused Nurse Rebecca for murdering his daughters because he wanted more lands. Corey said he had a witness to support the charge, but he afraid he might bring troubles to the witness so he refused to name him when Danforth asked for the name. Therefore Corey was arrested for contempt of court. Proctor presented his case with Marry Warren in order to save Elizabeth his wife. He even told them about the afraid that he had with Abigail. When Danforth asked Elizabeth about her husband's fidelity to test the truth of his charge, Elizabeth lied to save her husband's reputation. But it set Abigail free from the charge; therefore the girls renew their act of being possessed by Marry Warren. Marry was afraid so she accused Proctor of being a witch. Danforth accepted the charge and Proctor was under arrested. At the end Reverend Hale convinced of the evil of the court, denounces the proceedings and quit the court.
