In 1999 the public affairs television network
C-SPAN collected various skill and information from the historians to measure
the effectiveness of presidents of the United States. The network arranged
their survey from the best to the worst. I think it was a fair accurate way to
produce an arrange.
I think that not every ranking system is
perfect. It is impossible to show the accuracy of the inspect. Historian Howar
Roso said that his ranking system of inspect was fun and interesting but it was
not the final word on the presidency.
Comparing to the historians and C-SPAN
ranking system. The historians graded each president on a 1 to 10 scale in each
of ten leadership categories. But C-SPAN collected those scores and gave each
president a score between 1 and 100 rank the presidents. The C-SPAN invited
viewers to participate in the survey in order to increase publicity for the
survey.
On the chart, the C-SPAN was using different
projected approval to measure the ratings of George W. Bush's Presidency. The
majority of those polled believed George W. Bush would be an above average
president.
The C-SPAN ranking system is better because
they covered legislative skills, moral authority and historical context. By
combined all these aspects the survey is balance and it presents a fair,
accurate and complete portray of president of the United States.
