“Why don’t you ask the friend in your pants?” Grace asked her life long friend with a pointed look. In response, Adam gave her a look that clearly said ‘I’m glad this amuses you’.
A smirk was forming on her face when the door suddenly opened.
It was Luke. Oh shit.
He spotted her and gave her a look that let her know he was more than ready to make out. Not knowing what to say, Grace cast a panicked look over towards Adam.
Adam sensed Grace’s anxiousness and stood, clearing his throat. Luke looked from him to Grace, startled.
“What…” He started, clearly taken by surprise with this turn of events. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing,” Adam told him quickly, not wanting to have to explain to Joan’s brother what they had been talking about. As he was passing, he decided he really did need to get Grace back for teasing him. “And you, uh, better fire up those lips, whiz kid.”
Luke watched him leave, completely beyond confused. He turned to Grace, about to question Adam’s presence there. He stopped short when he saw what she was doing. She was applying a chapstick that he had never seen before liberally across her lips and gave him a quirk of her brow. Intrigued by this new development, he watched her as she capped the balm with a smirk.
With a playful tug at his shirt, she pulled him into her arms and gave him a taste test of her new cherry flavored chap stick.
Luke didn’t remember until later that night about the Adam incident. When questioned, Grace pulled out the chapstick and repeated the steps guaranteed to make a geek forget even his own name.
