Episode 12 Bonds to be broken?

Ame drew back from Marc, and looked him up and down, He was almost as tall as Ame at 6 foot. He wore blue jeans, and a blue denim shirt that was open revealing his athletic build. He had long pure red hair, that went down to his knees.

"Hey you," Ame smiled.

"Hey yourself." Marc returned the smile, "It's good to see you again."

"You said it." Ame suddenly realised they were being watched, "I really shouldn't have done that."

"Why not? My dad isn't in politics anymore." he obviously didn't care who saw them together.

"Let me introduce you to my boyfriend, Lucas Star." ame said walking over to Luc.

"Oh... erm.." Marc was embarrased, "Should have known you wouldn't be single."

"We have so much catching up to do." Loulou broke the tension, "Lets for a bite to eat, so we can talk."

"Sure." Ame smiled. Luc held onto Ame's arm as they walked to a cafe for an early brunch.

After ordering, Marc asked,

"So how long you staying for?"

"Two more nights," ame replied, "The funeral's tomorrow, we go the day after."

"Doesn't give us much time," Loulou shrugged it off, "So, what's living in the big city like?"

Hectic. You wouldn't believe all the things that can happen when you just go out for a night."

Their orders arrived, and a conversation was kept up, carefully avoiding the issue of Marc and Ame's passionate greeting.


Amy was rushing aruond her room, throwing clothes on the bed. It was her 'date' with Heero today [if the time-line is messed up, then forget it], and she wanted something that didn't give out the wrong signals, but would make Sonic very jealous if he saw them. She couldn't decide, and Tikal was being no help.

"So what do you think of this skirt with this top?" Amy held them up for inspection.

"They look nice," Tikal said distractedly.

"That's all you've been saying. I don't want nice, I want hot, but not too hot."

"Oh, okay."

"Maybe I should ask Loki in here for a guys perspective." Amy sighed, "But given his tase in clothes....... Wait, isn't Rouge staying at Ame's? Go get her!"

"Wha? Rouge, sure." Tikal walked into the living room, and saw Loki still sleeping. She smiled at him, then left for 312.

She knockled on the door, waited, then knocked again when she got no answer. Finally an untidy Rouge answered.

"Tikal? Do you know what time it is?"

"Um, 8:30?" She checked her watch to make sure.

"Really? That late?" Rouge looked shocked, "Knuckles smashed Ame's alarm clock when it went off at six."

"Amy needs help." Tikal told her vacantly.

"I've been saying that for years." Rouge laughed. "Oh, her 'date with Heero, right? Let me work my magic."

She led Tikal back to 311, smiling evily.


Dr. Robotnik had called an early meeting of his Chaos Research Division. Shortly he would be calling Metalix ans Super Sonic into the room for their offical introduction. Further digging into their pasts revealed little more that they already knew. Finishing his brief and warning them not to excite Super Sonic, Robotnik allowed them to enter.

"It's about time we were let into the inner circle." Metalix's digital voice managing sarcasm.

"This is where all Chaos Emerald related information is collected, processed and stored." Robotnk had been hoping to impress them, but Metalix was far more advanced than his technology, and super Sonic had wanderd over to a massive screen.

"Can you get Nickelodeon on that thing?" he asked its operator.

"But you haven't come here to see my equipment [not a nice thought..], yop have come to see this." He pressed a few butons, and Celestus appeared, surrounded by a glass case. "I give you the Chaos Emerald of wind and the skies."

"Shiney." Super Sonic stared at it.

"Chaos energy verified." Metalix had scanned it.

"I've tried using it's ebergy directly, indirectly, as a power source, but nothing. Robotnik admitted, "I've also tried scanning for similar power, but my instruments come up blank."

"Only short range scans will work." Metalix informed him. "Chaos energy is a part of this planet, scanning for it is like testing for water at the bottom of the sea."

"So what do you suggest?" Robotnik was getting angry. If Metalix knew this, then why hadn't he said anything before now?

"Equiping security drones with Chaos sensors. At close range, they'd pick up the patterns." "We can do a recall and upgrade proceedure. At best we can equip one in ten before anyone suggests anything." a worker suggested from his terminal.

"Get on it." Robotnik commanded, "And I have news about our canine anthropomorph. It's not good. There are about fifty individuals who fit the description in the city. It's just a shame video quailtiy isn't better on the secrurity drones, otherwise we could have had a visual, but I'll send out the upgraded drones to the address as soo as they're ready.

"Keep us updated." Metalix began to leave. "I have other projects to get back to."

He reached the door before realising that Super Sonic wasn't following. He had gone back to the monitor, and was shouting at the operator,

"I don't care about survalence, I wanna se Yu-Gi-Oh on this thing!"

The metalic hiss he issued was almost a sigh of dissapointment.


"Are you sure?" Amy's voice was full of uncertainty. Loki briefly wonderd why, but didn't really care. He needed to talk to Tikal, but that wasn't going to happn until Amy and Rouge had gone. he turned his attention back to his game. Even thinking about something else, he was still winnin

g. "I'm really not sure this is what I want." Amy again.

"Do you want Sonic to go green?" Rouge was sick of arguing, "Then show him what he's missing!"

"But still..." she was interrupted by someone knocking at the door. Pausing his game, Loki got up to answer it. Sonic was standing there, with a friend.

"Hey Loki, Amy ready yet?" he asked, "Heero here's got a date with her."

"I'll check." He shut the door on them then returned to his game.

"Who was it?" Amy had appeared, wearin and extremly short skirt, in pink, and a top that flared where she didn't, but had padding. She had Tikal and Rouge in tow.

"Sonic and some guy named Herro." he replied absently.

"Ohmigosh, Rouge, you are coming with us, right? I would ask Tikal, but she's single."

"Like I'd miss this. Just give me a sec to get ready, and get Knux."

They went out into the hallway, then Rouge dragged them into Ame's while she got ready.

"Freaky place, who lives here?" Heero asked seeing the decour.

"A friend of ours," Amy told him, "and I guess he is kinda strange."

In Ame's room, Rouge was trying to convince Knuckles to go shopping.

"Think about it, Am is gonna make a fool of herself."

"That's your interest, not mine." he told her, getting dressed.

"You don't have to buy anything," she begged, "plus you gotta see how I dressed her, poor girl thinks she looks good."

"Fine, but you owe me."

They left for the Mall without Sonic, Heero unable to take his eyes from Amy, and Knuckles wishing he was anywhere else.


Tikal sat next to Loki. She sighed, then said,

"You decided what to do with Aques yet?" In truth, the catboy hadn't given it much thought. "If you keep it with you, then you can use magic, "she continued, "but people will see it, I mean you can't really wear a backpack at all times like Ame. If you put it in a bank vault, then it'll be safer, but you wont be able to use it."

"I don't really need its power, do I?" he finally answerd, "But it does feel good to have extra power."

"Well it is yours, but you have to take responsability for anything that happens because of it."

"Stop." Loki shook his head, "This isn't what you want to talk about, is it?"

"No. I was wondering where we stand," she admitted, "Y'know, as a couple?"

"It's complex." he said, trying to avoid the issue.

"Then explain it," she was on the verge of tears, "I know that your bisexual, has that got anything to do with it?"

"No, I'm not sure. I have fun with you. Just give me some space. I'll always love you, but I'm not sure if it's the right kind, y'konw, physical or emotional."

"Take your time," she said, understanding, "But think on this."

With that she kissed him, softly, caringly, as Luc did. As soon as he thought of Luc, he pulled away.

"I'll be on the roof, tending to my garden," Tikal told him, "I'll see you later."

She wasn't crying when she left the apartment, she wasn't crying when she reached the roof, and she wouldn't cry until she knew how he felt.


Luc and Ame had spent the most of the day walking around with Marc and Loulou, meeting quite a few of Ame's old friends. As soon as Luc was introduced, most of them had gone quiet. When they final got back, Luc got angry.

"What was that?"

"Huh?" Ame was taken aback, or at least pretended to be.

"That 'greeting' you gave Marc?"

"What? I've kissed other guys since we've been dating."

"Never like that!"

"Fine. We never got closure on our relationship. He was sent out of town the day I fled. We didn't even get a chance to say goodbye. I guess there's still a little emotion there."

"And I'm supposed to just cope with it?" Luc knew how hypocritical he was being.

"No. We leave in two days. I got over him before, I will again. I barely feel anything for him, I love you."

"How can I believe that?"

"I have a bottle of cherry body oil in my bag," Ame smiled seductivly, "How about I prove it to you later?"

Ame began to nuzzle and kiss Luc's neck and cheeks.

"How could I doubt you?" Luc asked, "But why not now?"

"Good point," ame took Lucs hand, and dragged him up to his room, giggling.


Amy had been walked to her apartment by Heero, who merely said good evening, then left. First going into her apartment, and finding it empty, she crossed the hall to Ame's. Knocking loudly, she had to wait, before Tails, still in his pjamas, answered the door.

"Hi Amy," he smiled.

"Why aren't you dressed?" she asked, but not really caring, and walking in without being invited.

"Didn't need to, or feel like it." Klonoa answerd, still in his pjamas too.

"Well, I need to talk to someone," she said grabbing a snack, "Where's Tikal?"

"On the roof?" Tails suggested.

"Okay, I'll check, and don't stay dressed like that" she said leaving. Tails locked and bolted the door behind her, and said,

"We weren't planning to." before returning to Klonoa, and kissing him.

"You sure you want to do this?" he asked between kisses. Tails nodded, then led him by the hand to his bedroom.

"i'm not really sure what to do though." Tails admitted.

"Me either," Klonoa said shyly, "But we culd just go slow, and see what happens."

They both knelt on the bed, and continued kissing. Tails undid the buttons on Klonoa's top, and pushed it off his shoulders, Klonoa lifted Tails' top over his head. The fox-boy stared down at the exposed chest infront of him, and began to kiss it. His hand slipped Klona's waistband [so much for going slow]. The rabbit-boy allowed this, and lay back so his pjamas could be fully removed.

"Oh, should he?"

"Yes! I'm only doing it to make him jealous!"

"These things take time?" Tikal was trying to get rid of Amy.

"I need to go out on a night date with him, that'll get Sonic's atention."

"I could be saying anything couldn't I?" Tikal asked.

"So I see him Monday," Amy continued, "Any sooner, and I seem desperate."

"I'm having relationship trouble with Loki." Tikal said seriously.

"Thanks, Tikal. These talks really help. Bye" Amy waved then left.

Tikal turned back to her book and wrote:

'Well dear diary, I tried to talk about it, but I guess this is my problem.' before shutting the book and filling up her watering can.


Loki had gone for a walk, and to try to get his thoughts in order. Laughing off Tikal's advice, he now wore a Dragon Ball Z backpack [loki does have one of these] that held his emerald, and some impulse buys. To clear his head, he had been to an arcade, and taken on all comers on Dance Dance Revolution, spent ten minutes getting his name on the high score chart of every beat 'em up, and walked out after getting bored on a shooting game.

He was a member of a local gym, so went there next to try and burn off some energy, but even showing off his agility hadn't helped. Finally he made his way to Station Garden. He sat and admired the flowers, they reminded him of Tikal.

"Why am I treating her like this?" he asked of no-one, "This is my problem, I shouldn't make her suffer."

"Sounds like good advice," a park-keeper had walked up next to him to empty the bin, "You gonna take it?"

"I really should, huh?"

"If you care for this girl." he replied before moving on.

"Seems like everyone's full of good advice." Loki told himself, remebering Luc's words [inset flash-backy thing], "I should tell her everything, including how I feel for her."

Half-smiling now, Loki began his walk back to Chao Tower.


Rouge got back to Ame's apartment, and had to bang on the door for a few minutes before Tails answerd.

"Why was the door bolted, and why did it take so long for you to answer?" she asked impatiently, "Oh never mind."

"What's wrong?" Tails asked, Rouge wasn't normally this annoyed.

"Nothing!" she snapped, then calmer, "Are you going to be in bed early tonight?"

"Um.. Klonoa's staying again, we have some videos to watch, but we can do that in my room, why?"

"No reason." Roiuge sighed with relief. "Now, whats for dinner?" she walked into the kitchen to quickly search for food.

"You understand that?" Tails asked Klona.

"Not really, but I don't think any guy realy gets girls. Ame claims to though."

"But hes almost one himself, so he doesn't count."

"I'll tell him you said that." Klonoa laughed.

"He'll probably take it as a compelement." [I would lolh] Tails sat down with Klonoa to watch TV, and they were joined by Rouge.

At 7:30, Rouge stood up, turmed off the TV, and said,

"Time for bed guys."

"But what about our videos?" Tails protested.

"Well, keep the noise down," Rouge pushed them into the bedroom before quickly going round the apartment removing any trace of Ame, Luc and Tails living there.

8:00 came round, and there was a knock at the door. Tails and Klonoa could only hear Rouge say,

"Lets go to the bedroom," before a repeat of the noises from the night before.

"This explains why she wanted us out of the way," Klonoa said, "Knuckles is round again."

"I need a drink, you want anything?" Tails asked.

"I'll come with."

Tails went into the kitchen, and Klonoa was about to follow, but he saw something on the floor.

"I don't think it's Knuckles," he told Tails, "Knux wouldn't wear this." He held up a denim jacket, just before they heard Rouge scream,

"Oh Andrew..."


Ame couldn't sleep, but this was normal for him sometimes, he checked the clock, and it said 12:00. he got out of bed, not disturbing Luc, pulled on a t-shirt and a pair of briefs, then began to walk the house. He had intended to go to the library, but had heard voices inside. Checking he saw Sapphire and Millie together.

"Just what this family needs, more scandal," he said before moving on.

As almost everyone was sleeping, Ame had the full run of the house. In the drawing room, he looked out of the window at a clear night, and also Marc standing on the lawn. Throwing open the window, he called,

"Hey you."

"Hey yourself." Marc replied, "Well?"

"We're not dating anymore. I don't need to jump out of windows to see you." Ame told him, sitting on the windowsill

"But you're going to, aren't you?" Marc smiled. "I never missed you, did I?"

"Catch me," said Ame before slipping from the ledge. It was only a drop of about 6 feet, and Marc caught him perfectly.

"You know what I did when you went?" Marc asked, still holding Ame. "I went around all the old places, you know, all but one."

"Mother's hegde maze, our first time." ame shiverd from the cold. Without putting him down, marc took of his shirt, and wrapped it around Ame.

"We need closeure." he said before kissing Ame and carrying him to the maze. [and you thought Luc and Ame were cheesey]


Loki returned home, and saw Tikal waiting for him.

"You shouldn't have waited up," he told her.

"Oh, I see," her smile faded.

"I didn't mean it like that." Loki went to her, and wrapped his arms around her, "I've been thinking, if you'll have me, I want to stay with you, for as long as it lasts, hopefully as long as I know you."

"Oh, Loki" she said, finaly releasing the tears she had been holding back all day.


Ame led the way to the center of the maze, and now sat on a bench, kissing Marc's bare chest, gently stroking his back. Marc quickly removed his jeans and boxers, and lifted ame t-shirt over his head, before kissing his body.

"You taste of cherries," he whispered, "Just like the first time."

"I did it for you," Ame whispered back, knowing it was true.

Both were fully naked now, and Ame began to smother Marc in kisses. Though it had ben years, both still knew what the other wanted. Each kiss from Ame sent waves of delight through Marc. Every time Marc touched Ame, he tensed in pleasure.

"I have to have you." Marc's voice was hoarse with lust. He pinned Ame, face to face, bodies touching. Ame spread his legs, and felt Marc's impressive lenght at his opening.

The next day, Ame went through Diamond's funeral in silence, most expected him to. Afterwards, he stayed close to Luc, but still didn't talk, and the following night, he slept alone at the center of the maze.

The following day, they were due to go home, and Ame had recoverd, so was busy packing. When he finished, Tanzanite called for him.

"S'matter mother?" he asked.

"Appartently your free will has rubbed off on your brothers."

"If anything, it's you who gave us al a stuborn nature, and lots of free will."

"Well, Topaz has decided to go with you," she sighed, "And Sapphire has annouced his engagement to Millicent."

"What? Paz is coming to Station Square?"

"Yup," Paz stood up, "I've cleared it with Felica, and I'm staying with her."

"And Amethyst," his mother said, "Stay in touch."

She hugged him tightly, then they left for their train.


Getting back to Station Square, Luc drove them back to Chao Tower, and the whole gang was at Ame's, inculding Scarlette, who smiled when Paz walked in, but excluding both Tikal and Loki.

"I think Loki's helping Tikal water her flowers," Rouge told them.

"Well I'm taking us all out for lunch to celebrate Paz staying with us. C'mon, lets get them."

After phoning for an extra couple of cabs, the piled into an elevator. At the rof the dor opend, revealing Loki and Tikal kissing.

"Loki?" Ame said, shocked.

"Ame..." he replied, embarrassed.

"Tikal?" Amy was just as surprised. "Amy," she replied smiling.

"Loki!" Ame again.

"Ame," Loki sighed.

"Tikal??" Amy squealed in delight.

"Amy..." she answered, wincing slightly.

"Rocky!" Luc said, laughing. Ame burst out laughing to, but no-one else got the joke.


that episode didn't take long as this and the last were suposed to be just one, but what am I gonna do?
