Toshiya

Character Name: Toshiya Kuge*

Alias (if they have one): None

Age: 16

B-day: December 6

Grade level: 11th (Junior)

Favorite Color: Red

Favorite Food: Grapes

Least Favorite Food: Pickles

Race: Human

Likes: Foxes, books, playing and listening to the piano, Kitsu

Dislikes: Unnecessary fighting, people who always think they are right

Personality:
He’s rather quiet at times, though he has what one might see as a heart of gold. Modest, trustworthy, and the kind you could tell your deepest secrets to and have no fear of anyone finding out makes him a rather likeable person. He’s slightly shy, but will gladly stand up for anyone close to him. He would rather talk out a situation than fight, but, if he must, he can fight fiercely.

Physical Appearance:
His hair is a bright shade of red, hanging a little down past his shoulders so it’s easily held in a small ponytail at the nape of his neck. His eyes, which possess the slightest slant, are a deep purple in color, and many times have a slightly childish glint in them. His face is delicate, his complexion not tanned, but not pale, either. He’s a bit taller than most his age, and extremely thin, though it seems natural for him. For reading purposes, many times thin framed glasses are perched on his nose, though they seem to suit him very well. Up his left ear, spaced evenly up the cartilage, hang five, small black hoop earrings, and on the right ear an ear cuff rests. This boy looks so delicate, his fingers long and thin, good for one of his hobbies, which is playing the piano. About his thin chest he wears a loose shirt of fine fabric. It's much like that in the time of the Renaissance, with criss cross ties in the front to keep it closed. The fabric is thin, and clings to his arms many times. He wears long black slacks, those too of a fine material. They hang loose on his thin legs, and billow slightly as he walks. With these he wears large black boots on his feet.
Always about the young boy’s neck, or sitting atop is head, is a small male fox, whom he calls Kitsu. This fox, strangely, is tiny, barely passing 9 inches long, though it has the appearance of an young fox. It’s tail is long and bushy, almost half the length of it’s body, and is a beautiful reddish orange with a whitened tip. The rest of it’s body possesses the same color, with a few exceptions. It’s tiny feet are blackened, it’s tummy a nice creamy white. A bit of that same white is about his muzzle, and a tiny bit around his sparkling black eyes. This little kitsune is a spirit fox, and cannot be killed, except by killing Toshiya himself. He has a mental link with the boy, and helps guide him by giving him tips and reassurance telepathically. If Toshiya is ever in trouble, Kitsu can transform into a rather ferocious fox, that’s terrifyingly large...a bit bigger than a Shetland pony. When this happens, his legs become a bit longer in proportion, as do his teeth.

Are they magical?: Yes

If so, what is their Element?: Plant manipulation

Weapon: His powers

Magical Object/Talisman(if any): None ^^

What are their attacks?
1) Rose Whip: Transforms a rose into a thorny whip as sharp and solid as a sword.
2) Shimaneki (no) Sou: The seed of a Demon Realm herb is planted on the opponent's body without him knowing about it. It takes around five minutes to the seed develop its roots, and when that happens the victim can no longer move. By one's mental command, the plant germinates, ripping the victim's body apart. Then, flowers bloom.
3) Fu-you-ka no Ma-kai Shoku-butsu: (more of an ability ^^) Another plant grown from a seed. It has the shape of butterfly wings and antennae and grabs hold of the manipulator's shoulders.
4) *sweatdrops* I have quite a few attacks I’ve..stolen ^^ from my beloved Kurama.. a few more are a blood sucker plant, a carnivorous plant, and an attack that looks as though quite a few rose whips are wrapped about his arm. They can extend to cut the opponent.

History: Toshiya was born one frosty night in winter to his parents. They raised him in the city, but decided that maybe it would be better for him to go out and learn the ways of nature and to learn how to really appreciate it from his grandfather. They sent him off to his home in the middle of some dense woods, where he was home schooled. Since they were soon far away from civilization, Toshiya had no friends besides his grandfather. One day when he was about 7, he was walking about in the woods when he came across a young fox. The poor animal was obviously sick, and had also been in fight, from the looks of it. Toshiya had rarely seen a kitsune before, but he was captivated by them, and quickly picked up the small animal and brought it home. There he tried to nurse it back to health, and even became so attached to it as to name it....he named it Kitsu. His grandfather told him it was a bad idea, because ‘if your little kitsune dies, you’ll be so heartbroken. Kitsu’s spirit will no rest well if you are so’. Sadly, Kitsu soon did die, and Toshiya cried hard...he had been his only real friend. Kitsu’s spirit was stirred, and since he saw how upset Toshiya was, he wanted to re-entered his dead body. He himself had become deeply attached to the young boy that had cared for him. Though his body was dead, he pleaded his case to be able to return and help the boy. It was allowed, and he came back as Toshiya’s spirit guide. He helped Toshiya to learn to control and use his powers correctly. Not too long ago, Toshiya’s grandfather remarried to a woman named Kureejii. She, too, had powers, a tried to manipulate Toshiya and his grandfather’s good intentions and spirits. Toshiya saw this, and fought with her...and won. So, his step-grandmother lay at his feel, bleeding, and he stood, rose whip in hand. His grandfather came and saw, and sent Toshiya off in anger to Worthington to be straightened up, for he did not see the evil in his new wife.

* A little note on where I got the name...you all know of the tragedy that happened recently on...September 11th, where the two planes crashed into the World Trade Center buildings. On one of these planes was a student, 20 years old, from Tokyo. His name was Toshiya Kuge. I found this name and felt so horrible, so this character is in remembrance of him. I wanted to wait for a really nice, likeable character to come along to give his name, so that it truly is a memorial to him. I have no idea what he looked like, or acted like, but this is for him!
