Blue and Lute (Kindergarden)
Blue sits quietly in a corner, a small scowl set on his pursed lips. He watches the other, rather hyper children with slight contempt and annoyance.
Lute blinks, standing and walking towards the lone child. In just the moment he stands up, another child sits in his spot and begins to the play with the blocks. He stands in front of Blue, watching him quietly with curiosity.
Blue lifts his head a bit to look at the other boy, still scowling, "..what..?"
Lute smiles, sitting down next to him. "You look lonely."
Blue shakes his head a bit, looking to the other children. "..I'd rather be lonely than stupid." ..he's such a nice, bright little kid..
Lute blinks, tilting his head. "I'm Lute." Not exactly the brightest crayon in the box, in fact, he's the olive green one.
Blue looks at him, "...so?"
Lute smiles slightly, "What's your name?"
Blue says nothing, but merely watches Lute.
The blue haired boy tilts his head, waiting quietly and patiently for Blue to give his name.
Blue, seeing that the boy is...well, just going to sit there forever unless he tells him, finally states his name. "Blue."
Very observant, Blue! You guessed right, he would of sat there until
Blue told him his name, and you know what? He's still gonna sit there and attempt to become friends with him! Anyways..... Lute smiles, curling his knees to his chest and watching the kids. "Why did your parents put you in the daycare?"
Blue watches him, shrugging. "..they're usually not home, anyways. They work with planes... They didn't want to leave us at home all day with just a baby sitter."
Lute nods, smiling as always. "I like planes." Simple minded, quite.
Blue still keeps his eyes on Lute, before replying, "I don't."
Lute looks over to him, a questioning look on his face. "Why?"
"...because they're stupid."
He tilts his head, "But they're faster and safer than boats." Strange, that one with such a simple view of the world would know this, but, anyway, he does.
Blue shrugs, "..they're still stupid."
Lute keeps his head tilted, almost like a curious puppy. "...Why?"
Blue scowls, "...they're loud....and they're kinda scary. I hate planes."
Lute nods slightly, "I guess so..."
Blue gives a curt nod.
Lute leans back, leaning on the wall slightly and sitting next to Blue quietly.
Blue looks over at him for a moment, "..why're you sitting over here?"
Lute shrugs, "Because I can." Yeah.. That’s a real good reason, other than the fact that he's sitting with Blue because Blue has no one to sit with.
Blue crosses his arms, shrugging and leaning back, remaining silent.
Lute sits quietly, watching the other kids play. He has no qualms about sitting here and doing nothing, he's rather comfy not running around and screaming like a banshee with duct tape and the occasional spoon.
Blue, too, obviously is quite at peace with the silence..or rather, just the
silence between them.
Lute watches him for a quick second, before looking at the ceiling, amazingly.. He finds it interesting.
Blue sits..scowling. And that's what he does best, besides being a complete brat. The owner of the daycare begins pulling out a few mats, pillows, and blankets. "Come on, kids! It's time to take your naps!"
Lute stops looking from the ceiling. He won't budge until Blue moves, because he's just odd that way.
All the other kids scramble onto the mats, still giggling insanely and whapping each other...with...stuff... Blue slowly stands, walking over and moving off to the farthest side of one of the mats closest to the corner...oh, yes, he just loves all the other children and their company..
Lute follows getting a mat next to his, though it's not exactly next to his. He
looks over at Blue, and at the strangest time, asks a question. "Do you have any siblings?" Despite him being rather innocent he has a rather eloquent vocabulary.
Blue looks over at him for a moment, "A twin."
Lute nods, smiling and leaving it at that.
Blue curls up into a surprisingly small ball, burying his face in a pillow and pulling the blanket up over him.
Lute stares at the wall.
Blue makes a quiet noise, spacing out until he's half asleep.
And.. Lute continues to stare at the wall, but eventually he takes a visit to Lala Land.
Blue lies on the mat like a bump on a log...or a kernel on a cob of corn, or a key on a keyboard, or a clicky do-hicky on a mouse!
Lute just sleeps cutely, and is not a log...or a kernel, or a key, or a clicky do-hicky. He's just a sleeping toddler with a bit of drool coming out of his mouth, and looks rather huggable.
Blue...is there.
So is Lute...
