Valin and Ozzie

Valin sits in the journalism room, feet propped up on the central table. A pair of headphones rests over his ears, blearing music into his ears and his eyes are closed.
Ozzie slowly moves into the room, looking petrified, as if something were about to eat him. He grips tightly to the few books he holds in his arms, glancing at Valin before moving to sit down as far away from anything as he can get.
Valin opens one eye, glancing at the new arrival. He smirks...kinda cute.
Ozzie gently brushes a bit of his hair behind his ears, taking his glasses off and setting them down on his books, looking over to Valin.
Valin hmphs, slowly slipping the headphones of and setting them in his lap, "You must be new..."
Ozzie tenses visibly as he's spoken to, giving a hesitant nod and replying rather quietly, "Y-yes..."
Valin smirks, "A piece of advice, kid. Speak up or the editors'll walk all over you and I'd hate to see such a beauty beaten down."
Ozzie blinks, shrinking back in his seat slightly and turning a bit red. "...um...alright...."
Valin sniggers a bit, shaking his head, "The blush suits you, kid."
Ozzie turns even redder, shrinking down into his seat further. "T-thanks...."
Valin moves the headset from his lap, laying it on the table as he rises and strides over to stand near Ozzie. He leans against the table, his belt jingling as he shifts, "Do I make you uneasy..." Not really a question...
Ozzie blinks up at him, mming quietly though saying nothing.
Valin watches him, waiting...
Ozzie slowly shakes his head after a moment. "..no...you don't...." He's lying, of course. Everyone makes him uneasy...
Valin puts his hand under Ozzie's chin, tilting his head upward, "I'm glad..."
Ozzie blinks, his cheeks turning the slightest bit redder.
Valin starts to speak when the door opens and a few kids shuffle inside. One of them scowls, barking at Valin, "Knock if off, fag. We have no interest in viewing your hobbies."
Ozzie frowns, turning away from everyone and leaning back in his chair.
Valin pushes away from the table, "Yeah? Well the same goes for me...so zip up your fucking pants." The boy glowers, watching as Valin saunters back to his seat. ((hinting at masturbation, if you didn't catch that ^^))
Ozzie still sits rather far down and back in his chair, remaining silent, a bit nervous still on how others will act towards him. He sets his glasses back on his face.
Valin slinks over to his chair, sitting down without a chair. The boy, still growling a bit, retorts, "You just watch it...or I'll get you kicked outta here so fast..."
Ozzie shifts a bit, hesitantly looking over to the other boys.
Valin smiles, revealing neatly placed false-fangs, "You can't do anything to me." The boy growls, "Just you watch me, you dirty..."
Ozzie quietly speaks up, "...there's no point in fighting..."
Valin rolls his eyes, listening as the other boy hisses at Ozzie, "If I want your opinion, I'll -ASK- for it, newby."
Ozzie mms quietly, nodding and glancing down.
Valin scowls, "Keep your temper in check, Davis."
Ozzie gives a quiet sigh, wishing the others were calm and quiet, and that they wouldn't argue.
Davis scowls, "I should say the same to you, you stupid queer." Valin smirks.
Ozzie bites his lip, still keeping silent.
Valin begins to speak, when the sound of the bell cuts him off and the students shuffle around to sit down. A blonde girl sits down by Ozzie, smiling sideways at him and at Valin...
Ozzie looks at the girl, giving a weak, unsure smile.
The girl smiles, "You don't know what Valin does to kids like you, huh?" The teacher moves into the room, hushing the students.
Ozzie blinks, shaking his head a bit. "...no..." He points to Valin, "...is that him..?"
The girl grins, "Hai...that's the one," she whispers.
"...what...does he do to kids like me..?"
The girl leans over, whispering into Ozzie's ear... Valin, at this, scowls a bit.
Ozzie leans over a bit to listen, still watching Valin.
The girl whispers to Ozzie...perhaps exaggerating a bit on the other boy's actions... ((She's saying like that he fucks em in the closets and stuff ^^' Bad stuff. ^^ He doesn't, but yeah.))
Ozzie twitches slightly, "..r-really...?"
The girl nods, "Seriously. That's what I heard...he looks the type, don't he? And we've seen him with different guys from time to time...some from the college a few miles away from here..."
Ozzie whimpers quietly, still watching Valin. "...that..doesn't sound too wonderful..."
The girl nods, "That's what I thought..." She goes silent as the teacher snaps at the class, telling them to calm down... Even Valin is quiet.
Ozzie bites his lips, looking at the teacher silently.
The teacher, thus, begins his lecture on the set-up of the newspaper, the positions, the head staff of editors (including Davis), among other things....
Ozzie listens, writing down a few things.
Valin yawns softly, his feet once again resting upon the tabletop... The teacher smiles a bit, "But the most important things are to enjoy this experience and to educate the students...any questions?"
Ozzie glances over to Valin momentarily before looking away again.
Silence.... "Alright, no questions," the teacher assumes, "So get started...the editors will instruct all of you new students." Without another word, he vanishes. Valin watches him go, "Fun, fun, fun.."
Ozzie frowns, worried at what was going to happen, in particular, to him.
Davis stands up, "Alright. We need to brainstorm....what do the students of _(insert name here ^^*)_ High wanna hear about?" Valin smirks, "Homophobes?" "Very funny..."
Ozzie silently tries to think.
A few ideas are thrown across the room and a tall, built girl writes them up on the chalkboard.
Ozzie still sits silently, partially because he's too nervous to speak, and secondly because he has nothing to contribute. Still, occasionally, he looks over in Valin's direction.
Davis turns to the small group of new students, "I expect ideas from you guys. You still have to prove yourselves..." he points to Ozzie, "You. What's your idea?"
Ozzie makes a quiet noise, "...I-I don't have one, at the moment..."
Davis crosses his arms, "Well that doesn't cut it. Idea. Now." The girl beside Ozzie frowns a bit.
Ozzie frowns a bit, "...it's hard to concentrate and think something up so quickly, especially when you're putting me on the spot..."
Davis crosses his arms, "...I'm waiting."
Ozzie hms quietly, "...how lacking students are in showing respect to their peers?"
Davis nods, "That's good. See, this ain't so hard is it?" Valin hmphs, "And it's grammar like yours that causes such a low selling rate..." "Watch it..."
Ozzie lets out a quiet breath of air, slumping back in his seat.
The class continues like this for a few moments, ideas exchanged and written on the board until it is full.
Ozzie watches Valin silently as he has been most of the period. Ozzie shifts a bit away from Valin, think of the things the girl had told him and shaking his head. "N-no..it's fine..."
Valin crosses his arms, "Thought you said you weren't afraid of me...."
Ozzie ums quietly, "..I'm..I'm not..."
Valin scowls, "What'd they tell you, huh? That I'm gonna tie you up in the closet and have my way with you? Hmph. I'm not so quick as that. But fine. Do whatever the hell you want...just trying to be nice."
Ozzie blinks, watching Valin. "...I'm sorry...I'm just not really sure what to believe..."
Valin growls, "I said it doesn't matter." With that, he moves back to his seat, flopping down into it and starting to scribble something in a spiral.
Ozzie frowns a bit, feeling slightly guilty. After a moment, he stands, moving over to Valin. "...I really am sorry...do you want to eat lunch together? I don't know many people, and I'd be nice to have someone to talk to...you don't have to buy.."
Valin glares up at him, "Just forget it. I'm used to eating by myself. Hn." Valin glances at him from the corner of his eye, "Yeah, whatever..." The bell rings and he stands, heading towards the door.
Ozzie smiles, grabbing his books before following along behind Valin.
Valin glances at him, crossing his arms. Maybe the kid wasn't so bad...
Ozzie walks along, "..oh, my name is Ozzie..."
Valin shrugs, "Name's Valin..." No pleasantries or 'nice to meet you's. That wasn't his style.
Ozzie nods a bit, "Yes, the girl told me that...it's nice to meet you..."
Valin hmphs, "That's Jennifer...and I suppose she told you about my supposed 'fetishes' too?"
Ozzie nods once again, though more hesitantly. "...yes, she did.."
Valin hns, "Figures..."
Ozzie hms quietly, "...but, I suppose I should find out for myself what you act like, and not rely on what others tell me..."
Valin smirks, revealing his false-fangs. He puts his arm around Ozzie, leaning down and kissing him on the cheek. "In truth, the rumors aren't so far from the truth..but keep in mind I've never had a complaint..." He removes his arm, continuing to walk towards the cafeteria.
Ozzie blinks at the fangs, and, understandably, yelps as Valin puts his arm around him and kisses him. He turns an intense shade of red, watching as Valin walks away.
Valin glances over his shoulder, "Coming?"
Ozzie touches his cheek for a moment before nodding. "Y-yes.." He starts after Valin.
Valin waits for the younger boy to fall in step with him, smirking. "Now don't misunderstand...I won't do anything...serious. Unless it's what you want."
Ozzie looks at Valin, still blushing a bit. He nods, though remains silent.
Valin averts his eyes, glaring down the few students starting at them. "...Where ya from?"
"I've lived here my whole life...I just never talked to anyone and tried to stay away from everybody as much as I could..."
"Why do something like that?"
Ozzie gives a small shrug, "...I never really liked people much. They make me nervous..."
Valin shrugs, "I can understand why...frail little creature that you are."
Ozzie glances over to Valin for a moment. "...I...suppose I am a bit frail...." He says quietly.
Valin reaches over with one hand, stroking Ozzie's thin arm, hidden behind cloth, "Very."
Ozzie blinks at him, blushing faintly.
Valin leads him into the cafeteria, now cluttered with students and loud with chattering gossip.
Ozzie walks along, frowning a bit as they enter the cafeteria. There were so many people....
Valin glances around, "Hn...we can grab our food and head outside. No sense in staying in here..."
Ozzie nods a bit, silently thankful they don't have to stay indoors, "Alright.."
Valin pauses, looking around, "What do you prefer? Salad, pizza, junk.."
Ozzie gives a small shrug, "I'm fine with salad..."
Valin smirks, looking Ozzie's slim body over. "It shows."
Ozzie mms quietly, looking down at himself for a moment.
Valin laughs, "I didn't mean anything by it...come on."
Ozzie looks up at him, nodding, "...alright.."
Valin walks towards the salad bar, his sneakers slapping on the tile.
Ozzie follows along behind Valin closely, beginning to enjoy the other boy's company.
Valin listens to Ozzie's steps behind him, strangely enough, able to do so over the noise. He lifts a small paper plate in one hand, preparing to serve himself.
Ozzie does so as well, silently thinking over things.
Valin picks out some items of food, placing them on his plate. At this time it becomes rather apparent why he is so thin. Small slices of fruits and vegetables are all he takes. He glances at Ozzie, "...As I said, it's on me. So take whatever you want."
Ozzie blinks, shaking his head a bit, "I can pay for myself, don't worry about it..."
Valin raises an eyebrow, "You wouldn't be so rude as to refuse my hospitality, would you?"
Ozzie bites his lip, "..If you insist..I suppose not..."
Valin smiles, "That's better."
Ozzie smiles slightly himself, getting a little lunch of his own.
Valin steps up to the cashier, exchanging a few words with her...
Ozzie waits silently, glancing about uneasily.
Valin hands the woman a few bills, "C'mon. It's all taken care of." He exits the line, popping a cucumber into his mouth.
Ozzie follows along, "..thank you very much.."
Valin shrugs, "You're obviously forgetting how cheap this food is."
Ozzie blinks, shaking his head a bit, "..it's not really the money..it's the principal of it.."
Valin raises an eyebrow, though he continues to lead Ozzie outside, "Oh?"
Ozzie nods, "...well, yeah. It's just the fact that you did it..not that you spent money...you know?"
Valin hrms, "I suppose so...." Though he really doesn't understand.
Ozzie smiles, shaking his head, "Never mind..."
Valin pauses for a moment, moving outside. He slips a carrot into his mouth.
Ozzie follows along, waiting until they find a place to sit before he will begin to eat.
Valin stops suddenly, sitting down on the abandoned steps outside the door.
Ozzie blinks, after a moment seating himself beside Valin.
Valin glances skyward...the clouds are gray. "We may wanna hurry...I don't favor wet vegetables."
Ozzie glances up as well, beginning to eat daintily and quietly. "..mm...alright.."
Valin watches him for a moment, popping a slice of tomato into his mouth.
Ozzie shifts, lying back a bit to watch the sky still, munching.
Valin hrms, "I guess I should apologize for Davis, hm?"
Ozzie glances of at him, shaking his head a bit, "...no...it wasn't your fault."
Valin shrugs, "He was only hard on you cause of me."
Ozzie hms quietly, "...he doesn't like you, hm?"
Valin scowls, "And I don't like him."
Ozzie ahs, nodding. "..I can tell."
Valin hmphs, "Stupid bastard makes me sleep on the couch."
Ozzie blinks, sitting up a bit. "..hmm..?"
Valin nods, "You heard me."
Ozzie cocks his head slightly, "..you live together?"
Valin nods, "He's my cousin. I moved in with'em about eleven years ago when my parents died."
Ozzie ohs, looking slightly apologetic. "I'm sorry.."
Valin shakes his head, "It doesn't matter. I was a kid then and it all seems pretty...vague." Or that could be the concussion...
Ozzie nods, eating a bit more, "I see....so you're living with your aunt and uncle?"
Valin nods, "Yep. Though they hardly notice me these days. But that's fine with me, ya know?"
"Yes, I understand a bit.."
Valin leans forward on his knees, "So what about you? What's your story?" Right Valin, leave out the accident.
Ozzie gives a small shrug. "..nothing very interesting. I was born here, and I've lived here since then with my parents.."
Valin nods, pausing for a moment. He looks at Ozzie. There was something familiar about him... "This may sound strange...but have we met before? Maybe it's my imagination.."
Ozzie blinks, after a moment shaking his head. "..no, I don't think we have met..." He looks closely at the other boy, trying to retrieve some far off memory.
Valin shakes his head, "Sorry...this is stupid."
Ozzie frowns, "No, it's not..." He continues to watch Valin closely.
Valin laughs, "Too nice to tell me you think I'm crazy?"
Ozzie shakes his head, "Oh, no, I don't think you're crazy."
Valin smirks, "That's nice to hear."
Ozzie smiles a bit, glancing up at the sky as a raindrop falls on his nose.
Valin, who glances skyward, frowns a bit. A few raindrops touch upon his pale skin, streaking downward.
Ozzie mms, "..maybe we should get under cover."
Valin hrms, standing as the rain starts to fall more heavily. He tosses his remaining food into the trash, shrugging, "You go ahead...I think I'll head home...."
Ozzie throws his away as well, blinking. "..go home? But we're in the middle of school..."
Valin shrugs, "I don't feel like going to the next two classes...so I'll see you tomorrow."
Ozzie blinks, after a moment nodding. "...alright, if you think that's wise.."
Valin shrugs, "....Seeya."
Ozzie gives him a small wave, "Bye, Valin! See you tomorrow!"
