What the **** is up with that name?!

Okay, some of you curious or just plain nosy people may be wondering why exactly have I called my site, You'll never guess what happened to me!. Well ...

It's a better name than "Neil's Homepage".

Alright, alright, that explanation sucked. Fine then, Mr. Smart guy, so we'll go into the deeper meaning of it, K? I'll do a short FAQ to demonstrate.

Q: Why did you call your site: "You'll never guess what happened to me!"?
A: Hard question. I hardly ever say the phrase in my little survival trip of the Earth, I guess I got inspired by all the bad media on Cable TV and bad comic strips and such.

Q: Cable TV? Comics? Can you give names?
A: Oh, sure. I think my main influence is a Cable TV channel called "Nickelodeon" which my little sister, Cathy (or Kute Kitty as she is known on the web, blah. =P) watches at nausem (actually, it's gotten better these past few months). I think the main influence from this channel was from "Comedy" (I use the term loosely) shows like Kenan and Kel and Cousin Skeeter. While my sister was destroying my brain with channels like this one day I noted that the main characters in the shows had catch phrases when something went wrong or they got hurt ("Why!?" was K&K's and "I'm okay ... I'm okay ..." was Cousin Skeeters) and I didn't get it. The audience was laughing but it wasn't funny. Now I know people from the USA are intelligent perhaps more intelligent than us British at times but this was ridculous. I obivously knew it was canned laughter but I was thinking: "Do they think these children are stupid or something?  They really don't expect them to be howling with laughter at these lame phrases!" Then I thought, "Something must be done!" And here we are today. I consider my title more a parody, than a title.

Q: You mentioned comics?
A: Ah yes. Now this was of a more British influence. Stuff I used to love as kid like the Beano and Dandy I realised for crap stuff for children. Other stuff includes really badly done "humour" comics on the internet such as "Fireman" comics.

So there you have it. Hope that answers you question, now back to work gremlins! *KA-WHIP!*
