7th year Neville

This might just be my favorite drawing ever. ^^ I love how the expression on his face turned out, and it doesn't hurt that he reminds me somehow of a Harry Potter character. ^__^ ... Plus his shirtlessness makes me slightly drooly. ^^;; In the actual pencil sketch he's holding a broom. the scan doesn't show it 'cuz it's all sketchy and hard to see, but trust me, he is. And yes, I remember how Neville is a horrible flyer, but still... ^^ I figure 6 years should be enough for even Neville to get the hang of it.

I think the real reason I like this drawing is that it gives me the urge to make up scenarios about why his expression is so adorably wistful-like. My favorite idea so far is that he is just coming inside from flying practice, and he catches a glimpse of Harry flying on his broom. He sees Harry and how he looks so fiercely happy, and free in the air. He is both taken by the beauty of the scene, and saddenned at his own inability to feel such freedom atop his own broom...

hehe, anyways, enough of that foolishness. I did try and color this in my extreme hubris, but I hate it, so I will not put it up here. But! there is one thing about the color job I adore, and that is Neville's shorts. hehe. take a peek at them here.
