After LADY OF DREAMS album which was not released worldwide (released in only few countries), DREAM was released worldwide. Judging from this order of release and the contents of both albums, it can be said that DREAM is the album which was REconstructed from LADY OF DREAMS for the worldwide release.

Removed from LADY OF DREAMS album are three songs "AFTER THE RAIN", "AQUA", "SUNDANCE" (latter two songs are previously released). And added to DREAM are two songs "AGREEMENT" and "DREAM OF CHANT" both of which are featured vocals by Jon Anderson (Yes vocalist) again. (On "DREAM OF CHANT", Jon Anderson sings chant, not lyrics.) And duration of "A PASSAGE OF LIFE" on DREAM is almost double from the same song on LADY OF DREAMS album. These are the difference between DREAM and LADY OF DREAMS, so it can be said that these two are "sister albums".

As same as LADY OF DREAMS album, DREAM has slightly different atmosphere from KITARO-san's usual (or "typical") album because there are some songs which are not mainly performed by KITARO-san himself ("SYMPHONY OF THE FOREST", "SYMPHONY OF DREAMS" etc.). But DREAM is well-constructed much more than LADY OF DREAMS album. This album is obviously constructed as the album which has the songs featuring Jon Anderson in the "centre" position. Except "DREAM OF CHANT", all the songs featuring Jon Anderson has good impression, and at the same time, KITARO-san's typical taste is NEVER lost at all. Wide range of dynamism, powerful rock feeling, beautiful melodies... these aspests of typical KITARO Music of that period is obviously there on these songs, and that's cool!! For these are vocal songs, KITARO-san does not perform these songs in his live show usually. BUT without doubt, these are some of KITARO-san's most important works. "AGREEMENT" is the song which was evolved from "AFTER THE RAIN" which is an instrumental song on LADY OF DREAMS album. Now "AGREEMENT" became an vocal song, and became much more dynamic and dramatic than "AFTER THE RAIN".

This album is NOT the very first KITARO album for those who is new to KITARO Music. But if you become to feel that you like KITARO Music, you must listen to this album. Otherwise you are going to miss the excellent co-works by KITARO-san and Jon Anderson.
