Original soundtrack for Japanese NHK TV program again!! This time, the program is "KITARO and SHUSEI". Musically this album is close to last album TUNHUANG, so there are many pop melodies and phrases. But about "KITARO-san's typical flow represented through an album", or about delicateness and rich musical expressions, this album is obviously weaker than TUNHUANG. And mostly this album does not have world music taste which you can feel on KITARO-san's every previous albums (it's the aspect from KITARO-san's "I do everything what I want to do!!" spirit).

Both "OASIS" and "AQUA" are included previously in OASIS album. And it seems that the versions of both songs on this album KI are the same versions as on OASIS album. At the same time, durations of each songs on KI are both about one minute shorter than the same songs on OASIS album (fade out early). Probably because of the relation with the TV program "KITARO and SHUSEI", these two songs were included on this album, maybe. But for those who has no opportunity to see that TV program, it is so hardly to welcome the inclusion of these previously released materials with incomplete early fade out. (If you want to listen to the songs "OASIS" and "AQUA", you should listen to OASIS album.) Considering that KITARO-san is the musician who create an album as one music opus, these two songs' inclusion makes this album KI's impression worse obviously. This means that... probably there was important and unusual reason for this inclusion.

So this can NEVER be the very first KITARO album for those who is new to KITARO Music. And even if you already like KITARO Music, there is no need to listen to this album soon.

"CLOUD" can be heard also on live album BUDOKAN released next year and on next live album ASIA released three years later. Probably this songs was one of KITARO-san's favourites in that era. But remember that "CLOUD" on both BUDOKAN and ASIA is closer to "THE CLOUDS" on TEN YEARS album than the version on this album KI.
