3rd album whose musical direction is obviously changed from previous albums "TEN KAI" ASTRAL TRIP and FROM THE FULL MOON STORY. Each songs began to have order, and the arrangement became simpler. Same phrases and same melodies are comfortably repeated (especially phrases) and that makes the songs remained in listener's mind more easily, i.e. KITARO Music began to have pop feeling. There are still psychedelic feeling all around. But comparing to "TEN KAI" ASTRAL TRIP and FROM THE FULL MOON STORY, obviously this is the album for those who like "pop" music (whatever the category is). But at the same time, with this change of musical direction, the feeling like "I do everything what I want to do!!" was slightly lost. But NOT ALL of them. That feeling still remains. For example, "INNOCENT PEOPLE" which is a long cadenza by triple sitars. Without doubt, this kind of feeling or spirit (which is far from pop music and is free from everything) is an important part of KITARO Music...and one of its charming points. "KITARO-san's typical flow represented through an album" appears clearer than last album FROM THE FULL MOON STORY, and it makes this album's "story" more understandable.

"AQUA" is one of fan's favourites tune and was performed live in early 1980s so often. Artwork of the cover by Shusei Nagaoka who was well known with his work with Earth Wind and Fire etc. and those works made him one of the fashion also in pop music world of that era. After this album, relationship between KITARO-san and Shusei Nagaoka became deeper.

Actually it was this album that made a chance for KITARO-san to compose music for the series of NHK TV program "Silk Road". So musically this album belongs to KITARO-san's "Silk Road era". And, apart from absolutely amazing TUNHUANG album, this album is far better in "Silk Road era". Pick up this album before other "SIlk Road" related albums except TUNHUANG.
