3rd original soundtrack album for Japanese TV program "SILK ROAD". Without doubt, this is another masterpiece album, and the best among KITARO-san's four "SILK ROAD" TV soundtrack albums. "KITARO-san's typical flow represented through an album" creates the tremendous story inside the album, and the "flow" towards the climax of "PILGRIMAGE II" which powerfully rocks (like KITARO-san usually does!!) is amazing. There are many impressive melodies and phrases, and all of each songs are well-arranged, and at the same time, many songs have pop feelings. Contrast between thrilling tensions and pastoral feeling is very good for this album.

"FREE FLIGHT" is a very important repertoire and is performed live often even these days. (But if listening to this song's longer and more dynamic live performance first, you may have an impression that this original version is so quiet.) Both "PILGRIMAGE" and "THE GOD OF SAND" were performed live often in the period when this album was released. And it is said that KITARO-san's playing sitar on "THE GOD OF SAND" was one of the highlights of KITARO-san's early days live show.

This is a good album for the very first KITARO album for those who is new to KITARO Music. This is the album in which you can touch the best and the strongest KITARO Music in those early 1980s.

"MANDALA" on this album is a different song from the same title song on the album MANDALA.
