Powder

The most recent film that liked was Powder. I saw it on TV, in one of the late night's movie features. The main character was called Powder. His skin was so white. He was a really unique person. He had a kinship with electricity and thunder. He was very intelligent. He had a sixth sense. He could read minds. He was sensitive. He was hurting inside.

He found it hard living in the real world. Some people found it hard to accept him.

At the science class where the teacher discussed and demonstrated the principles of electrical energy, something happened. Powder attracted the electrical energy and an explosion occurred. Powder was in smoke, but he didn't burn.

As the story progressed, life was getting more unbearable. Powder was harassed by a group of young men. He was threatened by the father of the only girl who seemed to like him and accept him. His mother was insisting to place him in the institution.

At the end part when his mother, the science teacher, and Powder were leaving to go somewhere where they plan to start life anew, Powder saw dark clouds forming in the heavens. Then he heard thunder. Powder ran to the direction of the dark clouds in the wide open fields. Mother, the science teacher, and two police officers pursued Powder but at last were willing to let him go. Powder ran with a great speed. Lighting began to strike and Powder even increased his running speed, until Powder and lightning came in contact, became one and Powder was eventually eaten up by the energy and brought up into the skies.

The people who witnessed this event could hardly believe their eyes. One of the police officers cried in grief, the other was shocked and puzzled. The science teacher was surprised. Powder's mother was surprised, shocked, saddened by the loss of her son, and then later smiled and laughed nervously while tears flowed down her face. She was letting go… Powder was leaving and going to a place where he will be happy, for sure.
