On the last day of every academic year, the school usually gives medals or ribbons to pupils who have excelled in their classes. Usually this is done a day before the graduation ceremony, or sometimes, as part of the commencement exercise itself.

There are "Best in Science," "Best in Conduct," and so on. There are also recognitions like "Most Neat and Clean," "Outstanding Scout," and many others. The higher awards are of course the "First, Second, and Third Honors."
