LEEK & BACON MACARONI 
 
INGREDIANTS:
  • 350 grms Macaroni 

  • 3 Small Leeks 

  • 200grms Diced Bacon Rashes 

  • 30 grms Butter 

  • 2 Tblsp Flour (plain) 

  • 2 1/4 Cups Milk 

  • 3/4 Cup Grated Tasty Cheese 

  • 1/4 Cup Cream (thickened) 

  • 2 Tblsp Grated Parmessan 

  • 60 Grms Butter (extra) 

  • 1 Tblsp Dried Bread Crumbs 

  • A Pinch each Cayenne Pepper & Nutmeg

    METHOD:
  • Cook Macaroni untill tender (approx 10 minutes) the rince under cold water 

  • Spread Cooked Macaroni evenly over base of a greased Baking Dish 

  • Saute Leeks and Bacon in 30grms Butter for approx 3 minutes and then toss through Pasta 

  • Heat 60 grms Butter and Flour and cook for 1 minute 

  • Gradually add Milk stiring to avoid lumps then Cheese,Nutmeg and Cream 

  • Pour mix over the Pasta and Sprinkle with Bread Crumbs,Parmessan and Cayenne papper 

  • Bake for 30 minutes at 180 C
