Profile:
An exciting prodigy
This 18-year-old is one of the most exciting prodigies in contemporary
cricket today. Since his debut, the critics have been lavishing praise on
him for his technique, range of strokes and his audacity in executing them.
Possessed of an aggressive intent, that can explode and blaze without
warning, this talented teenager can leave the best of bowling attacks in
tatters in the space of a few overs.
A natural strokemaker, he likes to dictate terms to the bowlers from the
word go, and while it has endeared him to the crowds, it has also been on
occasion brought about his carry downfall. Strangely, despite his precocity,
or perhaps because of it, the selectors regard him as a one-day player,
preferring to sideline him for the Test matches, a trend made fashionable by
the Australian and English selectors. - Agha Akbar |
