Hush Radio was formed in 1997. They began as a worship band for their common youth group. As they began playing together more, they decided to start their own rock band. The members were A.J. Sherman (lead vocals, guitar), Alex Silva (lead & rhythm guitar), Jason Zito (rhythm & lead guitar, backup vocals, all around cool guy), Jeremy Loneske (bass), and Jesse Calcat (keys and just about whatever else he wants), and Ryan Paonessa(drums). The band started without Jesse, but he was aquired a few months after the band's formation. Jeremy left the band for the summer of '99, but rejoined that fall. They started out with the name "Bloodline", and had no original songs, but covered songs by the likes of "Third Day", "Supertones", and "Grammatrain". With the passage of time, they began to write original songs and released their first demo, "Smoke". That name evolved into "Lucky Thirteen" and stayed that for a while. Eventually, they settled on "Hush Radio". Phil Zott is the most current addition to Hush Radio as their new drummer. They are currently working on a new album, due sometime this year. The band's style, if you haven't heard them, is quite unique. Basically a rock band, they draw their influences from several different styles and bands. A.J. enjoys the musical stylings of Radiohead, NOFX, and himself. Alex draws much of his influence from the classic rock/blues type of music, with bands such as Jimi Hendrix, SRV and Buddy Guy. Jason has a wide range of tastes and influences, from heavy to light. His influences are Stavesacre, P.O.D., Metallica, the Beatles, and much more. Jeremy enjoys korn, limpbizkit, Bloomsday, and DMX . Jesse enjoys classical music and brings a unique Asian feel to the band. He's into that stuff. Phil enjoys Radiohead, Our Lady Peace, and stuff like that. That's the band. Go to member bios for more info. |
