Self-Appreciation Visualization

If you have difficulty imagining yourself in the most wonderful possible

circumstances or have thoughts like "I could never have that" or "That

couldn't possibly happen to me," take a good look at your self image and

how you really feel about yourself. Affirmations and creative visualization

are a wonderful way of creating a more positive self-image. Once you get in

touch with the ways in which you are not loving yourself, begin to take

every opportunity to tell yourself positive, appreciative, loving things.

When you're being mentally critical of yourself, consciously begin to be

kinder and loving. You will find this immediately helps you feel and look

better.

   

Self-Appreciation Visualization

Sit or lie down comfortably. Close your eyes and take in a deep breath

and let it out slowly and naturally. Continue to do this and starting

with your feet and moving upwards, relax your whole body until you are

in a state of deep relaxation.

Imagine yourself in some everyday situation, and picture someone (maybe

someone you know or a stranger, it doesn't matter) looking at you with

great love and admiration and telling you something they really like

about you. Now picture a few more people coming up and agreeing that you

are a very wonderful person. (if this embarrasses you, stick with it).

Imagine more people arriving and staring at you with tremendous love and

respect in their eyes. Now picture yourself on a stage,

with a huge crowd of hundreds of people, all cheering, applauding,

whistling and yelling out how much they love and appreciate you!! Hear it

all in your ears. Now stand up and take a bow and thank them for their

love, support and appreciation.

   

Now write down these affirmations which help reinforce the visualization.

1.I love and accept myself completely as I am.

2.I don't have to try to please anyone else.

3.I like myself and that's what counts.

4.I express myself freely, fully and easily.

5.I am a powerful, loving and creative being.

6.I am beautiful and lovable.

7.I am kind and loving and I have a great deal to share with others.

8.I am talented, intelligent and creative.

9.I am growing more and more attractive everyday.

10.I deserve the very best in life.

11.I have a lot to offer and everyone recognizes it.

12.I love the world and the world loves me.

13.I am willing to be happy and successful.

   

Think of specific qualities that you appreciate about yourself and add them

to the list. Do these affirmations using your own name (replace all the I's

with your own name). This way of talking directly to yourself is very

effective because it replaces your negative attitudes about yourself.

How did you feel writing the affirmations? Did you feel better? If so, you

can feel this way any time just by imagining it - it's that simple. In time

you will feel good about yourself all the time.

If writing the affirmations did not help you to feel good, keep practicing

and in time, you will. You are so used to negative thoughts, that positive

ones feel foreign at first. When we feel good about ourselves, we look

better, we feel better, our lives go better and we have less problems.

Do this visualization and to say the affirmations everyday

without fail and even take the affirmations with you and look at them

throughout your day. Within about two months you will notice a difference

in your life and things will begin to change for the better
